Hello and Welcome to Matchbook Haven.  This is a place for enthusiasts of matchbook collecting, also known as phillumenists, whether a beginner or long time collector, can learn about this wonderful hobby.

My name is Jason and I have been collecting matchbooks for almost 30 years.  I have amassed a collection of approximately 10,000 matchbooks in that time.  I started out by collecting matchbooks from places I went to, as a small token and memory of visiting their establishment.  As smoking became less popular, matchbook and matchbox production has significantly declined.   There has been a recent resurgence of the hobby of matchbook collecting over the last 5 years or so.

A matchbook is so much more than a small paperboard folder containing matches and having a coarse striker surface on the exterior. It's a memory, a souvenir, often a piece of artwork or photography, and also a piece of history.
